Launching the Action Month for Safety and hygiene 2020

(LĐXH)- The action month for labour safety and hygiene, themed improving working conditions and risk management at workplaces, was launched on May 8.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung noted that this year's action month is taking place in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic with its negative impacts on the economic situation of the country as well as workers' incomes and and living conditions.
Minister Dung suggested that all levels, sectors and workers join hands to implement basic solutions, such as strictly complying with the law on occupational safety and sanitation and all relevant COVID-19 preventive measures; as well as proactively enhancing technologicalapplication solutions in assessing and controlling all risks at workplaces.
He noted that efforts made in 2019 have so far boosted public and business awareness on the matter as well as having improved labour productivity and the working environment.
Safety models must be replicated, while the effectiveness of inspection work ought to be increased, he stressed.
On this occasion, a Workers’ Month with the focus on improving workers’ living standards was also launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour./.
